our voices: somali-american portraiture

 

This ongoing project seeks to amplify the voices of Somali-American young leaders in Minnesota by featuring their personal stories - in their own handwriting - alongside dignified medium format film portraiture. The series was launched in the Summer of 2020 to boost Black voices in the wake of George Floyd's murder by the Minneapolis Police Department.
